Terms of Booking Policy
In the unfortunate event should you need to cancel or re-arrange your appointment the following charges will apply. I appreciate sometimes things happen beyond our control but as much notice as possible is really appreciated.
Cancellations or appointment rearrangement, less than 12 hours notice = 100% of treatment cost; less than 24 hours before = 50% of treatment cost; more than 48 hours before the appointment - no charge.
Payment. As much as I love my job, this is my living. Payment is due on day of treatment, either by cash or BACS transfer, unless other arrangements are in place prior to treatment.
I am a fully qualified and insured Equine Massage and Rehabilitation therapist, registered with IRVAP (Institute of Registered Veterinary Animal Physiotherapists). Whist I have knowledge of the equine musculoskeletal anatomy and how to treat areas of tension and soreness, I am not a vet. By law, only a vet is able to give a diagnosis and should I feel that your horse requires veterinary treatment either upon arrival, or anytime during my visit then I will cease treatment and make sure a referral, in which case full payment is required.
When I visit your horse I will ask for a full veterinary history prior to treatment and your assurance that your horse is in good health, as well as the name of the veterinary practice your horse is registered with.
Should your horse be undergoing ongoing veterinary treatment for any condition then it is a requirement by law (Veterinary Surgeons’ Act 1966) that veterinary permission is sort prior to my visit. This can be done either by the owner or me.
Kindly ensure your horse is dry and clean in readiness for their appointment, should I be unable to complete a treatment due to the horse being wet and muddy then full payment will still be due.
Horses will be horses but I ask you to advise me of any known behaviour or handling issues beforehand. If in the event, I feel to continue a treatment is too dangerous for any reason, I may have to cease treatment immediately in which case the full treatment cost is still due.
